Meet Kelly

Kelly Whalen grew up playing sports. In college her favorite classes were tennis and badminton. This led to pursuing a degree in Physical Education and she graduated from UW Madison in '85. Kelly's first job was at a fitness club where she discovered the game of racquetball. She competed for many years at the state and national level winning multiple championships and was inducted into the Wisconsin Racquetball Hall of Fame in 2012.

Kelly was also involved in tennis as a player/coach. She participated in 4.5 State League Teams in Minnesota and Wisconsin and served for 8 years as the Head Women's Tennis Coach at UWM.

Kelly has been a teacher for the past 30 years, the first 10 years she was an elementary physical education teacher. The next nine years she moved to the high school level. For the last 10 years Kelly has been working with the special needs students at the high school level.

Kelly transitioned into Pickleball in 2014 and has never looked back. She's been involved as a player, instructor and ambassador ever since! She is a PCI certified instructor and loves teaching all skill levels individually or in groups.

Meet Terry

Terry started playing pickleball in 2014 and was so excited about the game she vowed to meet every player in the state who played!  She began traveling around to all the local groups to do just that - from Allentown to Waukesha, Green Bay to Crivitz, Muskego to Bay View, she brought her outgoing personality and enthusiasm for the game with her.

She realized this was an impossible task so decided she   would get the players to come to her!  This led to organizing events at local venues at Juneau, Sijan, Center Court, and Moorland.  Scrambles, tournaments, and social get togethers, all with prizes, swag, food and fun, and of course, a theme that tied everything together!

A behind the scenes master, Terry wears many hats, from communications director, to videographer, cook to hostess, scheduler to ball picker upper extraordinaire, she is all about providing super fun events and experiences for all the pickleball friends she knows and has yet to meet!

Kelly is a fantastic coach.  She is passionate, patient, positive and encouraging with her students from all levels.  She is so easy to understand and offers great ideas for teaching techniques.  Her styles, instructions, and flow of lessons are professional.  The way she is able to identify, explain and demonstrate is an incredible gift as a coach and instructor for pickleball.  I'm so thankful that she helped me so much to understand the rules, fundamentals and strategies of the game.  Kelly is a rockstar!!!

I have found Kelly to be an amazing instructor. She asks what you would like to work on, and addresses those requests. She has so much to offer at each level.  She teaches skills but also odds of shots and returns. She'll help you create signature moves.

Just want to say THANK YOU for running an extremely FUN tournament yesterday!  It was my first time playing in a tournament and although the end result was not what I wanted (I'm just a LITTLE competitive), I had an absolute blast!!!  Really appreciate all of the work you guys put into this!
